so i need help with funding my trip to Malaysia. there are many things to pay for to make this come together. for instance:
- tuition (covers international flight, assistance throughout the program, insurance, they set everything up for me)
- flight to LA
- passport
- visa
- immunizations
- spending money
- money for toiletries and clothing (i'm only allowed to bring one 44lb bag for an entire years worth of goods-- plus i am suppose to pack gifts for my host family, for exchanging with members of the community, and supplies to do demonstrations with)
- netbook (to e-mail home, blog, and store photos on)
- cellular (to keep in touch with my host family and community service project)
- camera (to document my experience)
- electronic accessories (ie: hard drive, power adapters, memory cards)
- suitcase (they told me to get one that is extremely light weight with good wheels)
- daily bag (like a purse but more durable for the rain and to hold my electronics)
- overnight back pack (for weekend trips.. and yes i don't own a back pack.. all through high school i carried little totes or nothing at all)
- light weight cotton or linen modest attire
- shoes- sandals. tennis shoes. (they say to bring a couple pairs of good quality shoes for lots of walking and use)
- fresh set of toiletries (so i don't have to get there and immediately find their version of face-wash)
- gifts: for family members
- texas & USA trinkets (to exchange with others in the community)
i am going to make "wish lists" on websites that have the products i still need to purchase and i will post links to these here on my blog. if there is any way you can make a donation or purchase one of the items i need, i would greatly appreciate it. any amount you can give gets me that much closer to Malaysia!
please help me pay for a year of personal growth through giving love and compassion to children of Malaysia as well as teaching the whole community about America over a years time span.
